ReteClock

An old Android phone in a drawer is still a perfectly good screen با a perfectly good clock in it. reteclock is برای exactly that: plug the phone into a charger, put it on a stand, و it shows the time in large digits با the weekday و the date. Old phones are hard to use برای much else. Signing in to a Google account stopped working on Android 2.3.7 و older in 2021, Google Play services stopped shipping updates برای Android 4.4 KitKat in 2023, و most برنامه‌ها now require a much newer Android. A phone that can no longer install anything can still show the time. So reteclock asks برای nothing: بدون حساب کاربری, no network, no runtime permission. It runs on Android 2.3 و newer, و it is built و verified against Android 4.4. Features * Full-screen 24-hour clock با seconds, weekday, month, day و year. * Two layouts. Wide screen: a large HH:MM on the left, با seconds, weekday, date و year in a column on the right. Tall screen: hour و minute stacked, then the weekday با the date, then the year و the seconds. * The hour و the minute are as large as the screen allows. Space is reserved برای the smaller lines first و everything left over goes to the big time, so nothing is ever clipped. They arrive bold, و you can turn that off. * Keeps the screen on while the clock is shown. * Burn-in protection: the drawing moves a few pixels every minute, when the displayed minute changes anyway, و works its way around a wide disc over a couple of hours, so an OLED panel does not burn in. * Starts when the charger is connected, و shows over the lock screen when started that way. This can be turned off. * Works as a سیستم screensaver (Daydream) on Android 4.2 و newer, و from a desk dock. * شما own fonts. Add a font file و the clock draws in it — TrueType (.ttf), OpenType (.otf) or a collection (.ttc), با anything the device cannot read refused on the spot. The file goes through the سیستم picker و is copied into the برنامه, so reteclock still asks برای no storage permission, و the font keeps working if you move or delete the original. Keep several: the تنظیمات screen lists each one's size و the total they occupy, و any of them can be deleted. * A font برای each field. The hour, the minute, the seconds, the weekday, the month و day, و the year each take their own font, و their own bold, italic و underline. Sizes stay worked out by the برنامه. * The clock does not fidget. Each field is sized from the widest text it could ever show, so 11:11 is drawn at the same size و in the same place as 88:88 و nothing shifts as the digits change. * شما own pictures, in one pool. Each تصویر is ticked as a background or as the text fill — the digits become a window onto it — or held on hand, unused; a select-همه tops each column. The backgrounds take turns: an animated GIF plays through once, a still holds برای a time you choose, one cross-fades into the next, و six fit modes cover every shape. The text تصاویر cycle on the same rules. Sort by name or date, rename (001, 002 … makes the name sort شما order), arrange by hand, or select many و delete together. * How much room the time takes is yours: two sliders — its share of the width in landscape, of the height in portrait. * شما colours: the text و the background, each from a palette — و never the same colour, so the clock cannot vanish into itself. * تنظیمات, reached from the menu a long press on the clock opens — or با the Menu key, or a remote's centre key held down: show seconds, date format, colours, the fonts, تصاویر و sliders above, و start-when-charging. Built small و plain Java و the Android framework only. No AndroidX, no پشتیبانی می‌کند از library, no Kotlin runtime, no third-party dependency, a single classes.dex, و an APK of about 490 KB. It holds two normal permissions — WAKE_LOCK, to keep the screen on, و VIBRATE, which only the تایمر uses. Both are granted at install و neither is ever requested at runtime.
